the Ukrainians' Cinderella journey ends the same way they started - massacred (i bet those were Spaniards masquerading as Italians). but still, getting to the Elite 8 is not bad for World Cup newbies. the Pinnochios still flopped their way to victory but had some beautiful scoring drives.


though i'm picking Brazil against France tomorrow, if the latter wins and England doesn't get upset by Ferdinand Magellan's children, it'll be a WWII-themed Final 4. then it boils down to the Axis Leader vs the Allied Champ for the Cup.
