C'mon baby, let's do the twist. A mere 2 days before their parole, convicts Rudy (Ben Affleck) and Nick (James Frain) get involved in a cafeteria riot, and Nick is killed. Rudy, true to Affleck form, uses his dick to think instead of his brains, and assumes Nick's identity to hook up with Nick's hot penpal Ashley (Charlize Theron). But apparently, it was a setup for Nick because Ashley's big brother Gabriel (Gary Sinise) wants "Nick" to help them rob a casino managed by the scheming Dennis Farina. At Christmas. In Santa outfits. Hoo-boy. Sinise makes the most out of his role, exuding menace that even dwarfs regular thug-role player Danny Trejo. Without the double-crossing and triple-crossing, this would have ended up even worse than how the critics panned it. This is no Ronin, but hey, i'd watch Charlize play a femme fatale anytime.
