americana

watched this red, white and blue over the weekend .

not at par with other Pixar gems (Toy Storys, Finding Nemo), but as always, being story-driven is always a Pixar strength. Owen Wilson fits the role/voice of Lightning McQueen, a brash rookie racecar poised for bigger things, if only he finds a heart beneath the hood. Cars, like The Incredibles, is not exactly geared toward the kiddie set, but there's enough action, color, and great lessons to be picked up even by most short attention-spanned child.

is it just me, or is there something inherently creepy about this New York Magazine cover?

Did the math, amigo. Soon Yi-Previn was 21 when Woody er ... got a woody. Scarlett turns 23 on November. So when they were shooting Match Point in London a couple of years back, she was around that age. Nyahahahaha!!!

Yeah but he was already drooling over Soon Yi when she was still, well, a fetus.

lest our other readers make hasty judgments, to be fair with mr. allen, soon-yi was 7 when she was adopted in 1978 by mia farrow and andre previn. 2 years later, allen moved into the picture and began a long relationship with farrow until 1992, when she discovered he was doing a lot more than drooling. unless age 10 qualifies as a "fetus", she was at least 20 when allen exercised his "who's your daddy" rights. still, i think he should have been subjected to same backlash as roman polanski.
