For years engineers have been warning that the levees won't survive a hurricane above category 3. And what did the gummint do about it? Wait for an above-category-3 hurricane to arrive to see if the engineers were right.

This was so tragic because it couldve been avoided.

Guess they were too busy thinking of ways to get oil and trying to find em terrorists.

One other sad thing is the fact that most of the looting and other despicable acts are committed by the 'disenfranchised' blacks of the community. The media is afraid to point that outright because of fears of racism.
