post Bowl thoughts

i'm pretty much wiped out from last night ... but here are some thoughts i had while drifting off to sleep despite the honking and merrymaking outside my Brooklyn neighborhood.

1) the Boston area and Tiki Barber must be waking up feeling queasy this morning (to put it mildly)


2) your turn, Philip Rivers


3) never, ever, ever bring your celebrity girlfriend to a critical game (just ask Tony Romo)

4) with the Mets getting Johan Santana, and now this Big Blue upset, maybe things are turning around for NY sports. now if only they could fire both Isiah Thomas and Jim Dolan ...

5) will it be Manning vs Manning next year?


6) the vaunted SuperBowl commercials mostly sucked for the second straight year. i only liked a couple, and even Careerbuilder lost their mojo.


7) the best 27 yards ever


8) other people having a good time today - Drew Bledsoe, Lawyer Milloy, Bill Parcells, the entire '72 Dolphins team ...

9) God bless those who bravely picked the Giants to win, in the face of sheer odds and potential humiliation from conventional thinkers, big media and everyone else. yes, i didn't think they'd win either.

10) did Bill Simmons wake up today? i have to know these things.

i bet he'd open up more if he won. or not.


now i'm sneaking in a couple which has nothing to do with the game, but enriches my geek soul.

and also a new lean one for Wanted, which looks so good (although i can see where they stripped elements of the original Mark Millar story) i'm already salivating (well, ok, Angelina Jolie is in it, completely throwing me for a curve because the Fox is supposed to be a Halle Berry template).
